Under the direction of the Personal Care Home Executive Director, the Receptionist plays a key role in representing the PCH. The Receptionist is responsible for maintaining the reception area and keeping it clean and tidy. Must be punctual, friendly, polite, and courteous to staff, visitors and to the public at large. Must be aware of the programs and services offered at the PCH and be able to provide general information to the public.

Job Duties:

  • Greeting visitors in a professional manner.  Determines the nature of there visits and directs them to the appropriate staff.
  • Monitor daily logbook of visitors.
  • Monitor daily sign in sheet.
  • Answer incoming calls in a professional, courteous, and respectful manner.
  • Take clear messages and completes handwritten messages for staff.
  • Receiving, recording, and sorting daily mail and faxes.
  • Ensure reception area is tidy and presentable, with all necessary stationery and material.
  • Following safety procedures and controls.
  • Order office supplies and keep inventory of stock.
  • Update calendars and schedule meetings.
  • Perform other clerical reception duties such as filing, photocopying, and faxing.
  • Fill out work order requests for Maintenance Supervisor to review and distribute to plumbers, electricians, and carpenter crews.
  • Other duties as assigned.


  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Excellent time management and communications skills.
  • MS (Microsoft) Office proficiency.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Professional attitude and appearance.
  • Customer service attitude.
  • Multitasking and time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks.
