Summary

 Under the direction of the PCH Executive Director, Support Services and/or Lead Hand the Housekeeping Aide performs the assigned duties in accordance with established work schedules, policies, procedures, and safe work procedures. The Housekeeping Aide is responsible for maintaining a safe, clean, and aesthetically pleasing environment for patients/residents, families, visitors, and staff. Courteous service is a critical component to this position. The position of Housekeeping Aide functions in a manner consistent with and supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of NCN-PCH.

Job Duties:

  • Implement crime prevention strategies and initiatives.
  • Connect persons in need with service providers.
  • Provide information to local policing authority on ongoing or emerging public safety issues.
  • Respect and protect the rights of community members, including but not limited to their right to independence, autonomy, and self-determination; their right to choose and practice individual values, beliefs, religion, and culture; and their right to privacy and dignity.
  • Use effective people skills to communicate complex and sensitive information.
  • Provide direct and comprehensive care and assistance to community members with specialized and complex needs.
  • Maintain a visible presence within the community.
  • Ensure commitment to quality, community member safety, and risk management initiatives.
  • Protect the health and safety of others by adopting safe work practices and reporting unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Perform responsibilities of the position within the legislative and regulatory standards set out in the applicable federal, provincial, and municipal legislation.
  • Prepare and submit accurate reports and records.

Requirements:

  • Minimum Grade 10 education required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written English.
  • Previous related experience.
    · Experience in health care or institutional cleaning.
    ·    Must demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills.
    ·    Ability to perform mental and physical aspects of the position.
    ·    Satisfactory employment record.
