To All NCN Parents/Caregivers

  1. On March 31st, 2020, the Minister of Education for Manitoba, Kelvin Goertzen, issued a letter as recommended by the Chief Provincial Public Health Officer that has directed all schools to suspend classroom learning indefinitely for this school year.
  1. This decision is based on the COVID-19 pandemic that is upon us
  2. All students will be expected to actively engage in remote learning via the technology.
  3. Students who were on track to graduate from grade 12 this year will.
  4. Provincial exams will be cancelled
  5. No students will be held back because of the COVID-19 pandemic
  6. Students will receive a final grade and report card
  7. Planning will have to be done to minimize the impact on the next school year and arranging for learning recovery where needed
  8. School buildings may close but should maintain essential staffing so resources can be accessed.
  9. Schools must ensure social distancing and increase cleaning for infection prevention
  10. The Department of Education is committed to ensuring that parents, students, teachers and administrators have the needed information
