MESSAGE FROM PUBLIC HEALTH:
It is flu season and it is circulating the community. Whether it’s the flu, Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) or COVID-19 your actions matter to reduce the spread of respiratory infections.
  • Stay home when sick
  • Wash your hands often
  • Wear a well fitted mask
  • Cover your coughs and sneezes
  • Keep spaces well ventilated
  • Clean and Disinfect high touch surfaces that can harbour viruses
  • Get the flu and COVID vaccine
FLU AND COVID CAN HAVE SIMILAR SYMPTOMS:
  • Fever, couch, muscle aches and pains
  • Other symptoms can be:
  • Headache, chills, fatigue, loss of appetite, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose
  • Some Other symptoms (especially in children):
  • Diarrhea, nausea and vomiting
TALK TO A HEALTH CARE PROVIDER IF SYMPTOMS INCLUDE:
  • Not drinking or eating
  • Not interacting with others
  • Irritable (Not wanting to play or be held)
WHAT SHOULD YOU DO?
  • The Nursing Station is short staffed; Priority Include:
  • Elderly
  • Children under age 2
  • People with other medical conditions such as cancer, diabetes, etc.
