Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Chief, Council and Citizens would like to thank the RCMP and Constable Ryan Linklater of the Nelson House detachment for raising $3500.00 for purchasing formula, diaper and wipes for infants in the community. Linklater’s fundraising efforts collected donations from various entities in the community. The funds also included a $400 float prize at Christmas time that was generously paid forward toward the cause.
Linklater and Detachment Commander Sgt. Shaun Sample presented the money on January 20, 2022 to Jeff Woodsworth, the Manager at the Three Rivers Store to procure the supplies. Sample said, “All the supplies will be delivered to the detachment and they should be here within a few days.”
Citizens needing Pampers (size 2-6), pull-ups, Enfamil (ready to use formula) or wipes, can contact the Nelson House Detachment at 204-484-2837 to be added to a delivery list. Staff will safely deliver to households using Covid precautions, on a first -come-first-serve basis, while supplies last.
