The Administrative Assistant is responsible for facilitating efficient and effective inter-office communications between the programs, services and staff of the Nelson House Medicine Lodge (NHML). The primary function of the Administrative Assistant is to assist management in maintaining a professional appearance of the organization, filing organizational records, communication of activities to the board, staff and clients, and is supervisor for the Receptionist.
Knowledge, Abilities and skills:
Exceptional knowledge, skills and abilities in general office practices and procedures, and the ability to type quickly and efficiently; Sound interpersonal & human relation skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and is familiar with using Microsoft Office suite.
Education and Experience Required:
The preferred candidate must possess a valid Class 5 driver’s license, have an appropriate diploma/certificate from a recognized college or post-secondary institute plus one year of related work experience. A combination of education and work experience may be considered.
Salary: Negotiable pending qualifications
People selected for this position must be an abstainer of alcohol, cannabis & illegal drugs for at least 4 months. An understanding of Aboriginal culture & the ability to speak Cree is an asset.
