Showing Respect to MMIWG

On March 3, a ribbon removal ceremony, sponsored by MKO, was held on the Miles Hart Bridge.

Chief Angela Levasseur, Councillor Jeremiah Spence, Thompson Mayor Colleen Smook, MKO staff and MMIWG staff walked along the bridge to respectfully take down the ribbons before construction began.

The ribbons had been placed to symbolize missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls.

NCN would like to thank the RCMP and the construction crew for acknowledging this ceremony by temporarily stopping traffic.
