RE: SIXTIES SCOOP CLASS ACTION SETTLEMENT DEADLINE: AUGUST 30, 2019

Please be informed that the Sixties Scoop Class Action individual payment application deadline for any of your citizens is August 30, 2019. The Sixties Scoop Class Action involves any First Nation citizen whom, between January 1, 1951 and December 31, 1991, loss their cultural identity because they were adopted or made a permanent ward, and was place in the care of non-First Nation foster or adoptive parents in Canada. Depending on the overall number of eligible class members, individuals could each receive compensation from $25,000 to $50,000. To make a claim for money, individuals must complete a Claim Form and send it to the Claims Administrator by August 30, 2019. A copy of the Claim Form is available at sixtiesscoopsettlement.info. Individuals do not need to pay a lawyer to complete the form. The Administrator will help your citizens fill out the form. Even if applicants do not have papers from the relevant provincial or territorial child service agency documenting their placement in care or documenting their status, they should still complete the Claim Form. The Administrator will make the necessary record checks for them, as needed. Questions on the process can be directed to:
