Notice to Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Citizens: Update to Halloween Events 2020

Due to the changes caused by the Covid-19 Pandemic, Halloween festivities will be different this year. Although we did a survey to determine Citizen’s opinions on door-to-door trick-or-treating, unfortunately NCN is now in the orange zone and active cases have recently increased in Northern Manitoba. With heightened safety measures and social distancing in place, we now have to take other approaches to celebrate Halloween.

We will not be going door to door to trick-or-treat, but that doesn’t mean we cannot celebrate and have fun. We’ve compiled a list of the best ways for families and organizations to safely celebrate Halloween in 2020.

Stay tuned to the NCN website and Facebook page for more safe activities (and prizes to be won). The current activities planned for this year’s Halloween are:

  1. Virtual Haunt – will run from October 23 to Oct 29, 2020
  2. Ghost Story Contest – tell us your best spooky story
  3. Halloween Pumpkin Decorating and Contest – will run from October 23, 2020 to October 29, 2020
  4. Treat deliveries to homes – NCN Government and Organizations will deliver treat bags to each home.
  5. Lunch Hour Radio Bingo – October 29, 2020 (Cards are free, prizes will be awarded).
