Our Chief, Angela Levasseur, and Councillor, Jeremiah Spence, participated in Ribbon Removal Ceremony on the Miles Hart Bridge hosted by MKO. Along with MKO staff and supporters, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women and Girls staff and supporters, the Mayor of Thompson, and an RCMP officer walked along the Miles Hart bridge to respectfully extract the ribbons from the bridge before construction on the bridge began.
We would like to thank the RCMP and the construction crew for helping in the ceremony by slowing down and stopping the traffic during the ceremony. It was a cold and snowy day, but participating, supporting, and enjoying our culture, traditions, and practices takes no days off.
