NNCEA Students should have received Covid-19 Rapid Test Kits on February 2, 2022.

* Any students who did not receive a rapid test kit can pick up a kit at the Alice Moore Education Centre Thursday and Friday (February 3 and 4) from 9:00am until 3:30pm daily.

RAPID TESTS FOR STUDENTS INSTRUCTIONS

Please complete these rapid tests prior to school starting. The purpose of the rapid test is to be proactive by identifying any possible positive cases. If your rapid test is positive, please phone the nursing station at 204-484-2031 to inquire about further testing. Additionally, you can call the Family Community Wellness Centre at 204-484-2341 for additional advice from Public Health.

TEST KITS ARE AS FOLLOWS:

  • GREEN boxes- there are 5 tests in a package. Complete one test each day for the next 5 days. Properly discard your test in the garbage once complete.
  • Ziploc bags- These tests came in kits of 25 so they were broken down into smaller packing. For these tests do 2 prior to returning to school, preferably on Saturday and Sunday.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR GREEN BOX KITS:

  1. Open kit and find instructions
  2. Wash your hands and blow your nose
  3. Take out the plastic holder and put 1 vile (tube) into holder
  4. Break the solution and pour into vile
  5. Put swab into nose as shown on the directions
  6. Place swab in the vile for 2 minutes as shown on instructions
  7. Remove swab and put dispenser on the vile
  8. Open testing packing and put 3 drops of the solution on your testing pad and wait 15-20 minutes
  9. View the instructions to identify a positive, negative, or invalid result

INSTRUCTIONS FOR ZIPLOC BAG KITS:

  1. Wash your hands and blow your nose
  2. Take one swab and insert into each nostril while swabbing inside
  3. Open vile and insert swab into the vile and swirl around. Squeeze vile and pull-out swab after 15 seconds
  4. Put cap back on and remove opposite end that has apparatus for droplets
  5. Put 3 drops on the testing strip and wait 15-20 minutes
    1. A POSITIVE is identified by 2 lines, one at the C and one at the T
    2. A NEGATIVE is identified by 1 line at the C

Please note Rapid Kits are provided to be proactive and to identify any potential cases. The results are kept to yourself, you do not have to provide results to the school.
