Manitoba Wildfire Service has informed yesterday’s rain fall did provide some relief, attached satellite imagery showing reduced amount of hotspots on the fires north of PR391. Fire NO-144 remains under control with no threat to the community. Fires NO-050 and NO-062, continue to be monitored. A wildfire incident command team and a burn specialist is currently conducting an aerial assessment of these fires to look at control burn options.
PR391 remains open to NCN and continues to be closed towards Leaf Rapids except for essential service past NCN access due to wildfires close to the highway.
Forecast weather, winds NW 20 km/h by midday, temperature high of 20C, low to moderate humidity across the region will contribute to drying conditions.
