Job Description:
The Summer Camp Coordinator (SCC) will be responsible for ensuring that each program is run successfully and safely. The SCC will supervise 4 additional Summer Camp Assistants (SCA) and be responsible for their daily planning. The SCC, in collaboration with NNCEA, will plan and coordinate the NNCEA Summer Camp activities and ensure implementation of the programs.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensure a safe arrival and departure of camp attendees
- Collaborate with bus drivers to coordinate pick up and drop off times
- Collaborate with cook to ensure breakfast, snacks, and lunch are planned and prepared
- Coordinate program implementation as per predeveloped agendas and plans
- Plan and prepare a schedule for daily implementation
- Ensure the safety of all participants and staff
- Respond and mediate any incidents that occur
- Compile a weekly report of activities and progress of the camp
- Supervise and provide direction to Summer Camp Assistants
- Assist Summer Camp Assistants with implementation
- Prepare and implement a variety of activities
- Create schedules and duties for Summer Camp Assistants
- Assist third party camp facilitators with program implementation
- Ensure all equipment is safely and securely utilized and store
- Compile data on student attendance
- Complete a “Highlights of Summer Camp” information sheet at the conclusion of the programs
- Create a poster or information sheet to be advertised prior and during camp
- Coordinate assistants to do community promotion in different areas
- Any other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Hours of Work:
8:30am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday
Start and End Dates:
July 6, 2023 – August 16, 2023
Rate of Pay:
$20 per hour
Qualifications:
- Valid Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
- Valid Drives License is an asset but not required
