Job Description:

The Summer Camp Assistant (SCA) will be responsible for assisting with the implementation of various camp programs. The SCA will work under the supervision of the Summer Camp Coordinator daily. The SCA will also work with our third-party facilitators to assist with the implementation of each program. The SCA will be responsible for managing and assisting camp attendees with their day-to-day activities.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the safe arrival and departure of camp attendees
  • Assist with day-to-day implementation of programs
  • Promote camp attendance through community visits
  • Assist with equipment implementation and storage
  • Assist third party facilities with running their programs
  • Assume responsibility for camp attendees
  • Assist with ensuring all attendees can participate
  • Respond and assist with mediating any incidents
  • Assist with the implementation of breakfast, snack, and lunch program
  • Follow the directive of the Summer Camp Coordinator
  • Utilize appropriate behaviour management techniques
  • Facilitate and encourage participation
  • Interact with parents and facilitators in a respectful manner
  • Prepare and lead a variety of activities

Hours of Work:

8:30am-3:30pm Monday through Thursday

Start and End Dates:

July 5, 2022 – August 16, 2022

Rate of Pay:

$16.00 an hour

Qualifications:

  • Valid Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
  • Valid Drives License is an asset but not required
