Tansi and good afternoon, citizens of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation:
It is with heavy hearts that we confirm that one of our missing relatives, Troy Linklater, was confirmed deceased at approximately 11:00 am today. We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his partner Nicole, their children, their family, extended family, and friends. We further extend our prayers and sympathies to all during this difficult time of sudden grief and loss.
We are thankful that our other citizen, CJ Hart, was found safely yesterday. We want to extend our gratitude to Wilson Moore, our lead search and rescuer, all of our local searchers, FNSOs, RCMP, and the Winnipeg search and rescue team. Please keep the families and loved ones in your thoughts and prayers. Finally, we ask that our citizens comfort and support each other through this tragic loss.
