Wildfire & Air Quality Update, July 24, 2025
NCN is not in immediate danger from wildfires at this time. However, smoke and poor air quality will continue, so please stay alert and plan accordingly. Avoid outdoor activities as much as possible and remain indoors, especially if you have breathing issues, are elderly, or have young children.
The Manitoba Wildfire Service reports:
- Fire NO-050: No major changes, continues to be monitored.
- Fire NO-062: Helicopters were out again today, conducting aerial suppression and heli-bucketing on the southeast edge of the fire.
- Fire NO-144: Under control and being monitored.
PR391 is open up to the NCN junction but remains closed westbound toward Leaf Rapids.
Today’s weather includes northwest winds (5–10 km/h) with a high of 22°C. Similar weather is expected in the next few days, with possible rain on Friday or Saturday.
