Due to rising COVID-19 cases in the community, Chief and Council have made the decision to postpone the Meet and Greet events scheduled for this week. New dates will be announced as soon as confirmed. Otherwise, Council looks forward to the Annual General Meetings (AGA) scheduled for next month, dates to be communicated in due course.
You are all probably aware of the rising COVID-19 cases in our community over the last several days. As at Friday November 11th 2022, we gathered from our Public Health team that there were at least 36 positive cases and that several others who tested positive had not formally reported to the department. We have reason to believe that actual numbers are higher than being reported. Due to the colder weather and most people being hurdled together at home, transmission rates are likely higher and could lead to further increase in cases.
We can work together to change this situation. Please continue to self-monitor for symptoms, stay home if not feeling well and report all positive cases to the public health department at 204 679-0279. Wear a good fitting mask over your nose and mouth when in indoor spaces, wash or sanitize your hands after contact with high touch surfaces, physically distance when in contact with others and in gatherings, and follow public health guidelines when posted.
Do your part so we can all be safe!
