Job Description:
The Human Resource Generalist is responsible for a variety of tasks including employee and employer relations, job postings, reference checks, ensuring contingencies for employees such as background checks, assisting with recruiting, and more. The Human Resource Generalist will work in cohesion with our Human Resource team to achieve organizational goals and to ensure our employees have access to their needed resources from the employer. The Human Resource Generalist will also assist with other tasks such as policy development and reviews, as well ensuring employees are aware and have access of all policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist in recruitment of all positions for NNCEA by creating and advertising job postings
- Review current job descriptions and modify in collaboration with respective program managers
- Review current policies and modify in collaboration with Executive Director of Education
- Assist with maintain employee files and records
- Assist with the development and implementation of HUMI software
- Assist with the development and implementation of WorkEasy Software
- Assist with sick leave and annual leave tracking for staff
- Assist staff with employee leaves
- Assist with employer and employee benefits package in liaison with benefits provider
- Provide necessary documentation to NNCEA payroll
- Develop and implement evaluation templates for each department, assist with evaluation of employees
- Assist with employee retention and orientation
- Creating and compiling interview questions, setting up, and conducting interviews
- Be the first point of contact for employee mediations and provide resources and guidance for employees
- Develop and implement employee/employer team building initiatives to create a conflict free workplace
- Provide resources to employees and employer for staff wellness
- Assist with employee training for all departments, assess training procedures and providing reporting on training needs
- Assist with employment contracts and letters of offer for all staff
- Organize and oversee NNCEA administrative assistants
- Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Education
Qualifications:
- A bachelors degree or diploma in the applicable field is preferred, experience will be considered as an equivalent
- Experience in the field of Human Resources
- A valid class 5 license is an asset
- Knowledge of working in a unionized setting
- Knowledge of Provincial and Federal employee standards
Salary: Negotiable based on experience and qualifications
