Construction Begins on Ice Rink, Beach Volleyball, and Basketball Court
Construction begins today, May 23, 2025, on exciting new additions to Ron Wood Park. These attachments include an outdoor ice rink, a beach volleyball court, and a full basketball court. When finished, these attachments will give our NCN youth and the entire community a safe and engaging place to stay active, socialize, and enjoy friendly competition.
This project is a meaningful investment in the mental and physical well-being of our NCN community, especially for our young people. Regular physical activity plays a vital role in mental and physical health. These new facilities will support our NCN community, offering accessible recreation options close to home.
The rink will provide a fun and healthy winter outlet, perfect for skating, hockey, or casual games. It will also allow our community to enjoy a safe area to play ball hockey in the summer.
The beach volleyball court adds a summer sport that encourages teamwork and movement.
The basketball court will be a year-round favourite, drawing youth and adults into the game.
These attachments will also give families and friends a reason to gather, share time, and strengthen community relations. We encourage all NCN members to use these new facilities not just for exercise but also to build relationships and take part in community life.
