Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Chief and Council extend our heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones on the passing of Rudy Linklater.
In times of loss, we are reminded that although we no longer see those who have walked before us, their presence, guidance, and care remain with us. Their voices are still heard in our memories, and their spirit continues to offer comfort and reassurance to those they leave behind. The light they shared does not fade, rather it continues to guide and strengthen us.
Rudy was known for his calm and gentle spirit. Those who knew him often shared that they never saw him angry. He took pride in caring for himself and always presented himself well. Rudy had a sarcastic and humorous personality and loved making people laugh. He was kind and generous, always willing to help others, and even when he had very little, he never turned anyone away.
Rudy dedicated over 25 years of service to Public Works, where he was especially known for taking care of all bereavement preparations for families, ensuring everything was ready during their time of loss. He was a loving father, grandfather, brother, and uncle who cherished spending time with his grandchildren and family. Rudy was deeply respected throughout the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation community, and his kindness, service, and compassion will be remembered and missed by many.
