Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Chief and Council extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, loved ones, and community of Bunibonibee Cree Nation on the passing of Chief Richard Hart.
In times of loss, we are reminded that although we may no longer see those who have walked before us, their presence, guidance, and care remain with us. Their voices are still heard in our memories, and their spirit continues to offer comfort and reassurance to those they leave behind. The light they shared does not fade, rather it continues to guide and strengthen us.
Chief Hart served Bunibonibee Cree Nation with humility, care, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of his people. Throughout his leadership, he worked tirelessly to strengthen his Nation and contributed to broader regional efforts that supported First Nations across Manitoba. His leadership was marked by integrity, steady guidance, and a deep respect for the people he represented.
We honour Chief Hart’s legacy by remembering the love, wisdom, and leadership he shared so freely. His contributions helped make our communities stronger, more connected, and more hopeful for future generations. The light of his service will continue to shine in the lives he touched and in the work that carries forward.
We hold his family, community, and all who are grieving in our thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.
