POSITION SUMMARY:

The position of Assistant to the CCEO is a developmental position that responds to the capacity developmental goals of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. Reporting directly to the CCEO, the Assistant provides executive support in a one-on-one working relationship. The Assistant serves as the primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies on all matters pertaining to the Office of the CCEO. The Assistant also serves as a liaison to the Council Secretariat and Senior Management team; organizes and coordinates executive outreach and community relations efforts; and may oversee special projects under the direction and supervision of the CCEO. The Assistant must be creative and enjoy working within an environment that is mission-driven, results-driven and community oriented. The ideal individual will have the ability to exercise good judgment in a variety of situations, with strong written and verbal communication, administrative, and organizational skills, and the ability to maintain a realistic balance among multiple priorities. The Assistant will have the ability to work with limited supervision and eventually independently on projects and must be able to work under pressure at times to handle a wide variety of activities and confidential matters with discretion. The Assistant must be willing to undertake training and attend workshops and continuing education seminars to enhance their advancement as required and directed by the CCEO.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Business Administration is required, with willingness to undertake further training and continuing education in management and administration-oriented coursework and seminars
  • Experience and interest in internal and external communications, partnership development
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, and Power Point), Adobe Acrobat, and Social Media web platforms
