POSITION: ASSOCIATE HOUSING DIRECTOR

The NCN Housing Authority is responsible for the NCN Housing Program and all community housing projects. We are looking for a qualified and competent Associate Housing Director to support the Housing Director in departmental planning and monitoring progress towards departmental goals. You will also be working to enhance productivity and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies.  This position is part of the department’s succession planning for NCN housing management.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist in developing and implementing plans and goals for the department
  • Work with the Director to coordinate and supervise daily operations
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and internal policies
  • Monitor attainment of objectives
  • Undertake staffing and staff management responsibilities (hiring, training, evaluating, etc.)
  • Assist in budgeting and monitoring expenses
  • Maintain scheduling of events and represent the department when needed
  • Create reports and submit them to the Director
  • Fulfill duties as assigned by the Director including but not limited to home inspections, proposal writing, financial analyses etc.
  • Complete a two-year housing management course through online learning and/or by attending week long modular courses as required.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven experience as an associate director, project management or other similar position
  • Experience in performance and operations management
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and quality standards
  • Excellent communicator and problem solver
  • Demonstrated organizational and leadership skills
  • Post-secondary education in Engineering or a relevant field
  • Experience with housing construction and trades, and property management
  • Must have a valid drivers license and “preferably” own a vehicle
  • Must be competent with computer skills
  • Resident of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation
  • Must adhere to NCN HR COVID Policy
