April 16, 2025, was a day to remember for the NCN community, not just because of the April snowstorm that rolled in. Despite the weather’s best efforts to put a damper on things, the NCN Flames hockey team rallied together to deliver Easter hampers packed with all the delicious fixings for an Easter feast.
The NCN Flames weren’t just putting their skates to work on the ice that day. They braved the mud, snow, and slush to ensure that every household in the community received a food-filled treat. These hampers, which included a turkey, fresh veggies, stuffing, gravy, and other delicious goodies, were hand-delivered to community members who were home. If you missed the delivery for any reason, don’t worry, head over to Country Foods.
Now, let’s talk about the real MVPS of the day, our NCN Flames. Not even a surprise spring snowstorm could stop them. In true NCN Flames fashion, the team tackled the challenge with grit, determination, and a whole lot of muscle. The muddy terrain didn’t stand a chance as they walked through the muck, making sure to knock on every door and share the spirit of Easter.
A huge thank you also goes out to all the parents, guardians, and everyone else who stepped in to help drive our hockey players to make sure those deliveries got done. Your support is what made this day possible, and we couldn’t have done it without you!
As the team made their rounds through NCN neighbourhoods, it became clear that no amount of snow or mud was going to slow down the Flames. These athletes don’t just train for the rink, they train for their community, too. The delivery may have been a little wet and muddy, but it was also filled with heart. And that’s what truly makes a team like the NCN Flames shine.
So, a big shout-out to our hometown heroes, who didn’t let a lot of snow get in the way of spreading joy this Easter. If you didn’t receive your hamper, don’t panic, you have a second chance. Head to Country Foods, where the team’s efforts will continue to make sure no one misses out on an Easter Dinner.
