We, as the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation, are celebrating a significant early Christmas gift: the Nisichawayasihk Development Corporation has officially acquired the building at 83 Churchill Drive in Thompson, Manitoba. 83 Churchill Drive is more than a purchase; this is a historic moment that shows the strength, ambition, and forward-thinking of NCN Leaders.
83 Churchill Drive will be a long-term asset, generating steady revenue through rentals and leases, keeping capital circulating within our nation and supporting future NCN initiatives. We, as 313, are strengthening our economic independence, reducing our reliance on external entities, and building lasting assets that will benefit our children, grandchildren, and future generations.
This acquisition also positions NCN as a rising force in the Northern Manitoba economy. When investors and partners see NCN making bold, strategic moves, they see opportunity and leadership. They see a community ready to attract new businesses, new services, and new partnerships that benefit our people.
And as the value of real estate grows over time, so does our Nation’s wealth. This building is a long-term gift that will support our nation’s services, including health care, youth programming, education, crisis response, and training opportunities. It enhances local pride, revitalizes space in Thompson, Manitoba.
Most importantly, it shows our youth that NCN believes in growth, innovation, and bold leadership. It shows them that our Nation is building, expanding, and taking control of its future. It inspires tomorrow’s leaders to dream bigger and continue moving our Nation forward.
83 Churchill Drive is more than a building. This is confidence. This is progress. This is NCN rising, today, tomorrow, and for generations.
