Salary Range: $58,090 to $78,590
AFOA Canada is the national centre for excellence and innovation in Indigenous management, finance and governance. Established in 1999, the Association is the only organization in Canada that focuses on the capacity development and day to day needs of Indigenous professionals working in all areas of management, finance and governance – today’s leaders and those of the future.
AFOA Canada is looking for a creative and energetic candidate to join the Marketing and Communications team as a Marketing Designer. Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the incumbent will create and deliver marketing content and provide administrative support to the Marketing and Communications team. They will be responsible for digital content creation for social media, the AFOA Canada and ILC websites, and the newsletter, helping to implement the Marketing and Communications strategy in accordance with graphic standards. They will also design marketing collateral for print and use data insights from analytics to improve design and marketing effectiveness.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Some post-secondary education in the field of communications, marketing, design or similar programs. A degree, diploma or certificate in relevant programs is an asset
• 2-5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of experience, training and education.
• Intermediate experience with social media marketing, analytics reporting, and/or graphic design
• Experience with Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign or equivalent programs
• Experience with web design (HTML, PHP, CSS, JavaScript, etc.), Google Analytics, Smartsheet, Constant Contact, Hootsuite, WordPress or similar tools are an asset
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong technical and organization skills are essential
• Basic clerical and administrative skills (filing, photocopying, answering phones)
• French proficiency and/or a working knowledge of an Indigenous language would be considered an asset.
• Prior experience working with Indigenous organizations will be considered an asset.
• Knowledge of culture, and issues facing Indigenous people is also strongly desired
This is a full-time position at the AFOA Canada office, in Ottawa, Ontario. Some travel is required. An attractive compensation and benefits package is offered for the position.
