The Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation (NCN) L.E.R. Department is getting ready to welcome a Legal Land Survey Team to our NCN community on July 3 – 5, 2025, in the Moore’s Bay area. This important work is part of our continued efforts to strengthen our Nation, protect our land, and prepare for future growth.
Here’s why this matters to all of us:
- Clear Boundaries, Stronger Rights: The survey will help clearly define the boundaries of homes, lots, and community spaces. This protects your land and ensures that it’s legally recognized and respected.
- Future Development and Housing: Proper surveys are key for building homes, community projects, and infrastructure. It enables us to plan more effectively, apply for funding, and support our nation’s development in a positive way.
- Ownership and Peace of Mind: With accurate land surveys, community members can better understand the boundaries of their property. This helps avoid future disputes and provides you with peace of mind regarding land ownership and use.
The survey team will be working throughout the community in the coming weeks. They may be measuring, using GPS equipment, and marking certain areas. Please give them your full support, they are here to help our community. Please ensure that all your pets are tied up to avoid conflict.
