Department: NCN Government Office Position: Human Resource Data Clerk

Under the direction of the I/Executive Director of Human Resources, the Human Resource Data Clerk is directly responsible for maintaining accurate and up to date employee records.  Completes routine data entry, to ensure the accuracy of HR records and compliance with regulatory standards.   and assisting with HR tasks.  You will use Human Resources Information Systems (HUMI) to ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidential. You will also act as the main point of contact for employees’ queries on HR-related topics.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assists with delivering core HR processes like onboarding, hiring, terminations and time keeping.
  • Supports the implementation of benefits, compensation, and performance management programs. May administer other HR systems used for timekeeping, performance, and training.
  • Conduct employee onboarding and help organize training & preparation of hiring package initiatives
  • Provide support to employees in various HR-related topics such as leaves and compensation.
  • Promote HR programs to create an efficient and conflict-free workplace.
  • Assist in implementation of human resource policies.
  • Undertake tasks around performance management.
  • Gather and analyze data to hire and employee turnover rates.
  • Maintain employee files and records in electronic (Humi) and paper form.
  • Ensure compliance with labor regulations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Equivalent experience and/or education will be considered
  • Must possess a high level of moral judgment for handling confidential information.
  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy are essential skills
  • Must be knowledgeable with Microsoft Office, Excel, Power-Point etc.
  • Understanding of general human resources policies and procedures
  • Good knowledge of employment/labor laws
  • Knowledge of HUMI software and willing to train
  • Excellent communication, written and people skills.
  • Aptitude in problem-solving
  • Desire to work as a team with a result driven approach.
  • Additional HR training

 A commuter bus is available for NCN workers who travel to and from Thompson, Manitoba, for work. This service helps workers commute safely and conveniently between the community and their workplace.
