Chief and Council of the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation extend our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of Evan Jean Marie Penner.
Evan filled the world around him with joy and happiness. He was known for his infectious smile, his good manners, and his willingness to take responsibility and help care for those he loved. Evan enjoyed being around his family, was a hard worker, and carried himself with a warmth that made life brighter for others simply by his presence.
Evan was known for the kind and helpful things that came naturally to him, and his caring ways left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him. One of Evan’s greatest loves was his late grandmother, Lydia, whom he spoke of often, sharing cherished memories and holding her close in his heart.
Evan also had a deep passion for music. He loved rapping and singing, and he proudly expressed himself through his extraordinary talents. He always showed energy, movement, and creativity.
Evan leaves behind precious memories that will continue to grow even more meaningful with time. Though his absence is deeply felt, his light, his smile, and the love he shared will never be forgotten.
Evan is lovingly remembered by his mother, Sherri Penner; his father, Louie Wood; and his siblings, Zayla Penner, Seth Penner, Jared Penner, and Natalia Penner, along with extended family, friends, and community members who mourn his loss.
