NNOC Student Services Team is seeking a High School Academic Advisor for our High School, grades 7 through 12. The focus of this role is to help and support our high school students with their courses, evaluate their choices for career options and secondary education. This person will work in collaboration with school administration and our Student Services team to deliver the following roles and responsibilities:
- Coach, support, and guide students to set and meet educational career goals
- Ensure Grade 12 students are on track to graduate
- Track grade 10 and 11 students required courses
- Assist high school students with registration and choosing their required courses
- Confirm program requirements for College and University
- Clarify program requirements for Secondary Education with students
- Track attendance using Power School for grades 9 through 12.
- Responsible for organizing Colleges and University presentations
- Coordinate and implement Post Secondary campus tours
- Complete career planning with Grades 9 through 12 students
- Provide students with academic advice and connect students with resources
- Meet with each Grade 9-12 students throughout each semester to ensure students are aware of their credits and ensure student accountability for their academic progress
- Collaborating with Student Support Services and other stakeholders to ensure Post-Secondary success for students in modified programming
- Assist with applying for scholarships, bursaries, and other funding opportunities for graduating students
- Tracking potential graduates
- Ensuring transcripts are ready for Grade 12 graduation
- Ensure grade 11 and 12 students have an email, resume and proper ID’s
- Coordinate and implement a career fair for NNOC Students
- Assist with graduation planning and organizing
- Addresses attendance concerns for students in grades 9 through 12
- Assists students with completion of their NNCEA Post Secondary Sponsorship package
- Assists students with applying to Post Secondary and acquiring the needed documents for Post Secondary
- Collaborates with NNCEA Post Secondary Counsellors
- Assists students seek support when needed for tutoring, counselling
- Conducts home visits to address attendance concerns.
- Collaborates with elementary school Student services for transition programs

Salary: Contingent on qualifications: successful applicant holding a valid teaching license would fall under NNCEA Collective Agreement.

- Bachelors in Education
- Valid and clear Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check
