On Thursday, August 28, 2025, the Nisichawayasi Nehetho Culture and Education Authority (NNCEA) hosted its annual Teacher Orientation and NNOC and the energy was contagious. The day brought together familiar educators returning to NCN and new faces ready to jump into the school year, all looking refreshed, recharged, and ready to roll.
With workshops full of new ideas, creative tools, and strategies to boost communication with families and students, the orientation was more than just prep, it was a pep rally for education.
Chief Angela Levasseur dropped in to extend a warm welcome and remind educators of the power they hold. Reflecting on her own time in the classroom, she shared how she misses the simple joy of greeting students each morning and how being there for just one child can change the entire course of their life.
Chief Levasseur then flipped the script, asking educators to share their own stories about teachers who inspired them. One by one, they stepped up to the mic. The highlight? A student from NNOC spoke about the impact a teacher had on their life, drawing applause and smiles across the room.
The positive vibes carried through the entire orientation: laughter, clapping, and stories that reminded everyone why they chose this path. With that kind of energy, the 2025–26 school year is set to be one filled with learning, laughter, and life-changing moments.
