NCN Lands, Environment & Resources Fire Update – July 15, 2025
Currently, the fires around Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation pose no immediate threat to the community.
Fire NO-062 remains very active on the southeast flank of Little Footprint Lake, Manitoba Wildfire Service advised that its being monitored. The fire perimeter was mapped yesterday at approximately 7500 ha.
Forecast weather for today: winds will be out of the northwest at 14-20 km/h, gusting to 30-40 km/h, with lower humidity, which will contribute to elevated fire behaviour.
As noted NCN Community is not in imminent threat at this time, be on alert and plan accordingly.
