NOTICE TO ALL NCN CITIZENS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS
Extension of State of Emergency – Order OIC-313-2026-02
Effective Wednesday, April 15, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., Chief and Council have extended the State of Emergency for all NCN Lands (excluding Mystery Lake lands) for an additional 90 days.
This decision has been made to ensure the health, safety, and security of our community in response to ongoing concerns regarding crime, violence, drug and gang activity, and the presence of harmful substances.
Key Reminders & Regulations:
- Checkstop Operations: Increased searches and patrols are in effect. All visitors entering NCN Lands must be prepared to show valid photo ID, state their reason for entry, and consent to vehicle/personal searches.
- Visitor Access: Non-residents are not permitted entry between 12:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m. except for emergencies or compassionate reasons with prior authorization.
- Curfew: A mandatory curfew remains in effect from 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for all youth under 18.
- Alcohol & Cannabis: Strict limits on transport are in effect. Permits and receipts are required for all alcohol and cannabis brought into the community. Transport of these items is prohibited for daily commuters and NCN employees using company vehicles.
- Safety Prohibitions: The possession of weapons (including bear mace, machetes, knives, and guns) is prohibited on NCN Lands without authorization. Gang activity, clothing, and paraphernalia are strictly forbidden.
- NCN Citizens, residents, and visitors using School, Coach and other Private and Chartered Buses cannot transport alcohol or cannabis.
- Operational Hours: Home-based businesses must cease all operations and deliveries by 11:00 p.m.
- Recreational Vehicles: ATVs, boats, and recreational vehicles may not be operated between 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m.
Chief and Council are committed to the safety of our Nation. Any person violating these orders faces potential fines of $500, seizure of items, and potential eviction or banishment.
