SUMMARY:
The Executive Director will be responsible for directing and managing the development and implementation of the programs and services to meet the emotional, physical, mental and spiritual needs of women. The Executive Director will provide direction and supervise all staff in the varied programs needs of the NCN Noosi Muskwa Women’s Shelter. Development of culturally rooted strategies, proposals, programs and services. The Executive Director manages the current financial resources and seeks new or alternative sources of funding. The position maintains public relations and a strong positive rapport with the community as well as government partners and organizations.
DUTIES AND RESONSIBILITIES:
- Development of the Operational and Governance Structure for the Noosi Muskwas Women’s Sheler in consultation with the Senior Management Team (SMT) and Chief and Council (C&C) and in accordance with the customary principles, culture, and language of NCN.
- Assumes responsibility for submission of annual budget, program reports on revenue and expenditures, and reporting requirements to ISC, Finance, Co-CEO’s and Chief & Council.
- A board/committee may be established to oversee the operations of the Noosi Muskwa Women’s Shelter.
- In conjunction with the CEO’s, update/develop policies, standards, and procedures to improve or enhance program quality and delivery.
- Recommends development changes or operational improvements for consideration.
- Initiates and conducts interna evaluation of the shelter services and programs and cooperates in any service audit as requested.
- Maintain statistical data.
- Develops strategies for fund raising and develops grant applications to alternative funding sources/organizations.
- Attends Chief and Council meetings as requested and provides financial and statistical reports as required.
STAFF MANAGEMENT: EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
- Management, input and assistance into the recruitment and retention of qualifies employees in conjunction with the Executive Director and Human Resources.
- Development of Job Descriptions and a suitable performance management system to develop and enhance employee skills and abilities
- At least on year of related experience and/or training
- Certification in First Aid and CPR required; Must be maintained by obtaining recertification as necessary.
- Equivalent combination of education and experience will be taken into consideration.
- Must provide current satisfactory Vulnerable Sector Check, Criminal Record Check and Child Abuse Registry Check.
