The 2025 Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Annual General Assembly (AGA) brought together the heart of our Nation, our NCN departments, leaders, and most importantly, our community. For two full days, May 7-8, 2025, managers and directors from across NCN stood together to showcase the work being done in each program, from Health and Wellness to Culture, Education, Justice, Youth Services, and more.
This year’s AGA was a true celebration of collaboration, progress, and purpose. Each department shared not only their achievements but also their vision for the future, one rooted in care, connection, and continued support for our youth and families. A consistent theme from NCN families and youths echoed through every presentation, answering the question: “How can we better support our young people and nurture the next generation of NCN leaders?”
For the first time, the AGA was broadcast live on Facebook and Achimowin Radio, allowing both on- and off-reserve members to participate. Community members were invited to ask questions on Facebook, anonymously if they chose, ensuring that even the quietest voices could be heard.
This openness created space for honest conversations, valuable questions, and strong answers from our dedicated managers, supervisors, and executive directors. Each of them spoke with pride about their work and a shared commitment to making NCN the best it can be for all of our NCN Community Members.
As we move forward, the passion and unity shown at this year’s AGA remind us of what makes NCN strong: our people, our programs, and our promise to keep listening, supporting, and growing together.
