On Monday, September 30, 2024, please join us at the Norman Linklater Multiplex at 1 pm to honour the Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools, those who survived, and those who never returned home. Orange Shirt Day is a powerful reminder of the injustices endured by our relatives and other Indigenous people and the ongoing journey of reconciliation.
It is a day to reflect on the past, acknowledge the lasting impacts of the residential school system, and commit to ensuring that every child is cherished, valued, and allowed to thrive.
Let’s listen, learn, and work together towards healing and understanding. By wearing orange, we stand together with the survivors and their families and remember that every child matters. Let the day remind us of the injustice, not just for the day but every day.
