COVID-19 BULLETIN #92
OIC IN EFFECT WITH FEWER RESTRICTIONS FOR NOW

Tansi!

The State of Emergency will remain in effect as public health has advised that cases are on the rise in the community. There are now upwards of 30 cases. We all want to spend Christmas with our families this year so let’s work together to prevent a community outbreak.
It is still very important for everyone who leaves the community and travels, to test themselves before returning. Test AT HOME when symptomatic, get vaccinated and keep vaccinations up to date. Anyone who tests positive, please contact the public health department for further instructions on isolation (204) 679-0279.

If active cases of COVID-19 continue to climb significantly, then various measures may need to be quickly put back in place.

MITIGATION PLANS:
ALL businesses, facilities, schools and offices must update their mitigation plans and follow them.

VACCINATION UPDATE:
Like other vaccines, the COVID-19 vaccines wear off over time so boosters are needed to provide ongoing protection. PLEASE CONTACT PUBLIC HEALTH TO ARRANGE FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY TO GET THE VACCINE, BOOSTERS AND YOUR FLU SHOT AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

CONTINUE TO FOLLOW THE COVID-19 FUNDAMENTALS:
We URGE everyone to do your part so we can try to prevent a major outbreak this fall/winter:

  • Follow ALL of the fundamentals – wear a mask when attending gatherings, physical distance, limit contacts, sanitize, wash your hands frequently, get vaccinated and get tested if you have any flu or cold like symptoms or have had contact with anyone who tested positive.
  • If you have ANY symptoms at all, STAY HOME, call public health if you have questions – 204-484-2341 (Monday to Friday from 8:30am-4:30pm) or 204-679-0279 (Monday to Friday from 4:30pm to 9:00 pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12:00noon to 5:00 pm);
  • If you test positive you MUST isolate for at least 5 days and wear a mask for an additional 10 days – if you live with other people wear your mask around them at home also – public health will provide you with additional information.

TAKE STEPS TO PROTECT YOURSELF, YOUR FAMILY AND OUR COMMUNITY. CONTINUE TO BE RESPECTFUL AND SUPPORT EACH OTHER.
