COVID-19 BULLETIN #54
STATE OF EMERGENCY EXTENDED
Tansi!
New OIC-313-2021-5
As the pandemic is far from over my Council and I have approved extending the State of Emergency to April 30, 2021. We continue to monitor and review the spread of the virus and the restrictions in place to keep our community safe.
This new OIC increases the allowable limits for outdoor gatherings from 10 to 25 effective at 6:00 pm today. All other provisions remain the same.
Vaccinations
We faced a number of challenges in the vaccination process this past week – the weather did not co-operate and as people needed supplies we had to ensure that social assistance proceeded as planned. There also still seems to be concerns about the safety of the vaccine.
The Moderna vaccine being used in our clinics is safe and effective. It has been proven to be well over 90% effective in preventing the spread of the virus and serious illness. We need to quickly get more of our Citizens vaccinated.
The vaccine clinics will continue at the Family and Community Wellness Centre on Tuesday, April 5 and Wednesday April 6. Please fill out a consent form in advance if possible.
We have only used about half of the currently available vaccine doses. We need to increase our rate of vaccination to be able to get back to normal.
Please get vaccinated to protect yourself, your loved ones and our community.
