PROVINCE-WIDE LOCKDOWN EFFECTIVE THURSDAY, November 12, 2020

Tansi!

Earlier today Premier Pallister announced a province-wide lockdown will go into effect on Thursday, November 12th. The entire Province will be designated as RED which is the most critical level on the Pandemic Response system.

There are currently almost 5500 active cases of COVID-19 in Manitoba. The number of people in hospital and in ICU (intensive care units) has increased dramatically. The health care system is overburdened. The number of deaths is climbing. The numbers in northern Manitoba continue to climb and First Nations communities are being hard hit. We must do everything possible to keep this silent killer out of our community.

More Restrictions

The Province is imposing more restrictions on Thursday. We currently do not have all the details but so far we know that people will be required to stay at home except for shopping for supplies and that many businesses and facilities must close. Schools are to remain open across the Province. Although grocery stores will be required to operate at a reduced capacity, we want to assure you that Three Rivers Store is keeping the shelves well stocked.

We will be working with our NCN EMO and public health team to determine the impact of the Province wide lockdown and what additional steps may be needed to keep the virus out of our community. We hope to have more information available late Thursday or Friday.

Thank you NCN Citizens

Please remember with your help we are one of the few communities that has not had a single COVID case even though some of our Citizens living outside the community have become infected. WE MUST KEEP WORKING TOGETHER SO IT STAYS THAT WAY.

THIS PANDEMIC IS HARD ON ALL OF US. BUT IT IS URGENT THAT EVERYONE FOLLOW THE RULES AS THEY ARE PUT IN PLACE FOR THE SAFETY OF ALL OF US.

Ekosani!
