Salary Level: $58,090.10 to $78,590.54

AFOA Canada is the national centre for excellence and innovation in Indigenous management, finance and governance. Established in 1999, the Association is the only organization in Canada that focuses on the capacity development and day to day needs of Indigenous professionals working in all areas of management, finance and governance – today’s leaders and those of the future.

AFOA Canada is looking for a motivated candidate to join the Marketing and Communications with excellent communication and project management skills. The incumbent will be responsible for coordinating e-communications and website administration including ensuring project schedules are met and documentation is completed and assisting in the preparation of communication and promotional materials.

The Coordinator, Marketing and Communications also administers and coordinates marketing of Indigenous Learning Centre scholarship and bursary programs, the Harvard Executive Program, the Next Generation Indigenous Youth Professional Development scholarships and the following awards: Youth, Indigenous Community Excellence Award, and Indigenous Leadership Award, among other duties.

THE CANDIDATE:

Reporting to the Director, Marketing and Communications, the Coordinator, Marketing and Communications will be a key member of the Marketing and Communications team, bringing a strong client service focus.

• Possess at a minimum a college diploma in a related field (Communications, Marketing, Media, web design) and 3-5 years of related experience and/or training or an equivalent combination of education and experience
• Demonstrated ability and creativity in supporting marketing and communication strategies
• Experience working with databases and software applications including Salesforce, Constant Contact, Survey Monkey, Hootsuite, MS Office software, Adobe Photoshop (including Adobe Suite), Google analytics, Zoom and Zoom webinars
• Knowledge and understanding of CASL legislation and compliance
• Knowledge of and experience in project management, budgeting and program planning and delivery
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Knowledge of tradeshows including virtual tradeshows
• Bilingual English-French would be considered an asset
• Attention to detail, thoroughness and organizational skills
• Ability to prioritize and organize workload
• Ability to take direction and be a team player as well as to work independently

This is a contract position until September 1, 2027, working out of the AFOA Canada office in Ottawa, Ontario. An attractive compensation is offered for this position.
