Congratulations to the Newly Elected NCN Chief and Council

On behalf of the current Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Chief and Council, staff, management, and Citizens, we extend our sincere congratulations to our newly elected Chief and Councillors.

As you prepare to take on the responsibility of leading our Nation, we hope you’ll lead with the courage, respect, honesty, compassion, humility, truth, and wisdom required to achieve success in the work ahead. Leadership carries both great responsibility and great opportunity. As you move forward, listen to our citizens, learn from our ancestors, Elders and the community leaders who came before you, work together through differences, and make decisions with the best interests of our Nation at heart.

May you always remain guided by the people you have been chosen to serve. The people of NCN have demonstrated generations of dedication, compassion, resilience, perseverance and pride in our homeland, our waters, our animals, our plants and all ways of life. May these same qualities guide you as you lead our Nation into its next era.

In addition to the newly elected officials, we also extend our appreciation to all candidates who put their names forward and to everyone who volunteered or participated in the democratic process.
