Attention, NCN residents
With wildfires impacting our region, we are currently experiencing smoke and changing air quality conditions. At this time, there is no evacuation order, but it is important to take steps to safeguard your health and prepare for any potential developments.
Health & Safety Precautions:
- Monitor Air Quality: Stay informed through local air quality reports and updates. If air quality worsens, limit outdoor activities.
- Wear a Mask: If smoke becomes thick, protect your breathing by wearing a mask when outdoors. Indoors, use air purifiers or create a clean-air room by closing windows and doors.
- Stay Hydrated: Drink plenty of water to help your body cope with smoke inhalation.
- Watch for Symptoms: Pay attention to signs of smoke-related illness, such as coughing, difficulty breathing, eye irritation, and fatigue. If symptoms worsen, seek medical attention.
- Keep windows and doors closed as much as possible to prevent smoke from entering their homes. If ventilation is needed, use high-quality air filters or air purifiers indoors to improve air quality.
- Regarding fans, avoid using window fans that pull air from outside, as they can bring in smoke. Instead, use indoor fans and air purifiers to circulate and clean the air inside.
