On February 5, 2026, Chief Angela visited Nisichawayasihk Neyo Ohtinwak Collegiate (NNOC), spending time with students and staff in a visit centred on encouragement, connection, and listening.
Chief Angela was warmly welcomed by students, who greeted her with hugs upon her arrival at the school. These moments reflected the strong relationships within NNOC and the comfort students feel in their learning environment. During her visit, Chief Angela met with Grade 7 and 8 students, offering words of encouragement and reminding them of the importance of continuing their education and supporting their peers.
As she walked through the school, Chief Angela stepped into classrooms to greet students and speak directly with teachers. She asked educators about their classes, daily routines, and how to make the school day more engaging and enjoyable for students. These conversations were grounded in mutual understanding, as Chief Angela herself was once a teacher.
Drawing on her experience as an educator, Chief Angela acknowledged the countless hours teachers dedicate to planning, teaching, and supporting students beyond the classroom. She recognized both the challenges and rewards of the profession and expressed appreciation for the work educators do every day for NCN youth.
The visit was a meaningful reminder of Chief Angela’s long-standing dedication to education and to the well-being of NCN students. Even after many years of service in various roles, her focus remains clear: everything she does is for the youth of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation and their future.
