NCN Athletes to Compete at Special Olympic Winter Games

Two athletes will be competing for Team Manitoba at the Special Olympics Canada Winter Games in March and proudly representing the Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation. The 12-year old twins, William and Jemiha Hart from Thompson, have reached a milestone with their recent outstanding athletic performances.

William is a figure skater and will be competing in the men’s level-two figure skating event. Hemiha is a snowshoer who qualified in our Manitoba provincial games last year and will be competing in the 100- and 200-meter snowshoe events. Both athletes qualified at the games to go to the national games in Corner Brook, Newfoundland. Read the Newsletter for the complete story.
