Acclaimed Children’s Book Written By NCN Citizen

Nehetho Traditions Shine in New Book

Natashia Moodie is a busy NCN Citizen who wears many caps, including public health nurse, singer/songwriter, animal advocate, and now, published author!

Little Tree” is a children’s book about a spruce tree who lives in the boreal forest of the Northern Hemisphere. He is curious about the world around him and, with help from his friend Strong Eagle Man, learns about climate change and the ways in which our actions affect the planet.

“It’s amazing how this story came to me,” says Moodie. “I was on the ferry from York Landing for work. I was looking at the trees, thinking about environment, and it just came to me. I wrote for an hour and a half straight. It just flowed.” Read the Newsletter for the complete story.
