A Day of Celebration: NCN ATEC Graduation 2024

This year’s NCN ATEC Graduation was truly something special. The room at the Pack House was filled with excitement as students from the Mature Student and Micro Trades Programs walked across the stage, surrounded by proud family and friends. It was clear how much hard work and dedication each student had put into reaching this point, and the energy in the room reflected that sense of achievement.

For many, this wasn’t just a personal success but a collective one. Families came together—my own included, with my brother Nistia, my sister Nimis, my mother Nikawi, my father Nohtawi, my grandfather Nimosom, my grandmother Nohkom, and the whole Ototitomihitowin (family clan). We watched with pride as the graduates grinned from ear to ear, knowing they’d accomplished something significant.

More Than a Diploma

What made this graduation particularly meaningful was the balance these students had maintained in their lives—working hard at their studies while taking care of their families and other responsibilities. Some graduates are already planning to continue their education, while others are ready to step into their future careers and provide for their families with the skills they’ve gained.

Watching them succeed reminds us all of the importance of education and how much it can open doors for the future.

A Community Effort

This event was a celebration for the graduates and the whole community. It takes a village to support someone through their educational journey, and the strength of the NCN community was evident at every moment. From the cheering family members to the friends and mentors who encouraged these students, it was clear that this was a shared success.

Gratitude to ATEC

A huge thanks must also go to ATEC for providing these educational opportunities right here in our community. Being able to pursue education without having to leave home is a gift, and ATEC’s programs have empowered so many individuals to chase their dreams while staying close to their families.

Congratulations to all the graduates! You’ve worked so hard, and we’re excited to see what great things you’ll achieve in the future.
